Max Bill (1908-1994) studied at Bauhaus and worked in a wide range of areas including graphic design, product design, architecture, oil painting, sculpture, and teaching. A master of design, he left his mark not only on Swiss design, but on modern design as a whole. In addition to creating graphic designs, architecture, furniture, and timepieces, he produced a clear philosophy concerning function, beauty, and design for social responsibility.
